What Microsoft Copilot is and how it answers
Microsoft Copilot is the assistant built into Windows, Edge and Bing. Its answers are grounded in Bing search results and usually include citations, which makes Bing indexing and IndexNow relevant to Copilot visibility.
Why track Microsoft Copilot visibility
Copilot reaches users inside Windows and Edge who never open a search engine. Because it relies on Bing, tracking Copilot reveals gaps that Google-focused SEO misses, such as pages not indexed by Bing.

How the tracker works
- You add prompts — conversational questions your customers ask Microsoft Copilot — and the brands to track.
- Every 24 hours SALTEN asks Microsoft Copilot each prompt from a resident IP in the project country and stores the full answer, its features (web search, shopping, comparison) and fan-out queries.
- An extraction pipeline detects brand mentions (aliases and transliteration-aware), rank, sentiment phrases and every URL the engine used or cited.
- Results are aggregated daily per model, country and topic into Visibility, Position, Sentiment, Share of Voice and source tables you can filter, export or query via API/MCP.
Microsoft Copilot tracking questions
Does Copilot visibility depend on Bing?
Largely, yes. Copilot retrieves from Bing's index, so pages that are missing or stale in Bing rarely get cited. Submitting URLs via IndexNow and Bing Webmaster Tools helps.
Is Copilot included in the base 3 models?
Copilot is one of the 6 self-serve channels. You can pick it as one of your 3 included models or add it for $35/month.
